A client of Waltrip & Campbell, PC, represented by Stephen E. Campbell, Esq., was found Not Guilty of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol in the Williamsburg-James City County General District Court. Mr. Campbell’s Client’s vehicle was pulled over in Colonial Williamsburg after failing to stop at a stop sign. After the police administered a battery of field sobriety tests, Client was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Mr. Campbell challenged the arrest of his Client by filing a Motion to Suppress the Arrest for lack of probable cause. Mr. Campbell successfully argued that there was not probable cause to support the arrest of his Client and his Client was subsequently found Not Guilty. The failure to stop at a stop sign charge was also dismissed as the stop sign failed to meet VDOT standards.
